Free Aloha Friday celebration at Westlake Center Sept 10 and 24

Free ALOHA FRIDAYS are offered Friday September 10 and 24 at Westlake Center Plaze, 400 Pine Street, Seattle from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Come, relax, and take that mini retreat to paradise!

Seattleites will have the opportunity to end their week right with an escape to the Islands of Hawaii. Get away from the daily hustle and bustle and unwind at Westlake Center Plaza with the tastes and sounds of Hawaii. Sample delicious island snacks while listening to live Hawaiian music. In addition, each island will be adding its own special touch each Friday for you to enjoy:

  • September 10: Oahu and Maui offer sweet cacao from Oahu’s North Shore and Honolulu Cookie Company shortbread cookies along with Coffees of Hawaii and Hawaiian Springs Water. Then take home aromatic plumeria blooms from Molokai and lavender sprigs from Maui after a calming hand massage by Maui’s Kimo Palakiko. Musical entertainment and dance provided by Maui’s Halau Hula o Na Pua o Pakipika complete the island experience.
  • September 24: Kauai and Hawaii’s Big Island offer the opportunity to enter to win a fabulous trip for two to Kauai! Relax to Hawaiian music and hula by Halau Hula O Lono as you enjoy Kauai Coffee and Kauai Kookies, as well as goodies from Big Island Candies, Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts, and Hawaiian Springs Water. Sample products from the only vanilla commercially grown in the USA, be inspired by expertly-designed tropical floral arrangements by Hitomi Gilliam’s Design 358, and don’t leave without a Big Island tropical floral from the Hawaii Tropical Flower Council.

    A free Big Day of Play is sponsored by Seattle Parks Dept and PCC Markets at Warren G. Magnuson Park, 7400 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle, August 28, 2010. Celebrate Cultural Diversity! There will be music, activities, and healthy food and plenty of fun for our cities youth.

    Here’s a list of the fun activities and programs that help families to be active together: Fun Run, 3 on 3 basketball, and samples of the activities from all of our facilities and programs, and Paddling and Boating activities at the beach.

    The premier chocolate event in the Northwest, the Seattle Luxury Chocolate Salon is for chocolate aficionados, fanatics, lovers and addicts–a place where you can taste and experience the finest in artisan, gourmet, and premium chocolate by chocolatiers and culinary artisans from around the world. The Seattle Salon runs Sunday, July 11, 2010 (Bastille Day Weekend) from 11:00am-5:00pm at the Bell Harbor Conference Center. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. Children under 6 are Free and Children, 6 to 12 are $10. Salon Entry includes all chocolate & confection tastings, and demos.

    Wine, dine and dance under the summer stars at the 14th annual Sunset Supper at the Pike Place Market to be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 7:30-11:00 p.m.

    Each year, fine restaurants, wineries, breweries, and spirits companies come together to serve their delicious creations in a buffet style setting in the heart of the Pike Place Market. The evening includes dining al fresco at long tables set up on the cobblestones of Pike Place, food and beverage samples from dozens of the best proprietors from all over Washington state, and dancing under the summer stars to live music.

    This year more than 70 restaurants and beverage vendors will participate. Music will be provided by one of Seattle’s Hottest bands, Lady “A” & the Baby Blues “Funk” Band. L.A.B.B will bring their incredible jazz flavor, blues, and Motown sound; everything from “Classics to Old School Funk”. The Sunset Supper Wheel of Fortune will provide everyone in attendance with the chance to win fabulous prizes!

    Proceeds from Sunset Supper support Pike Place Market’s four human service agencies – the Senior Center, Child Care & Preschool, Medical Clinic and the Downtown Food Bank. Together, these agencies assist nearly 10,000 people in need each year. Sunset Supper is a Market Foundation event. The Market Foundation works to preserve the traditions and diversity of the Pike Place Market neighborhood by supporting the Market’s human service agencies for low-income and elderly residents of downtown Seattle.
