Emerald City Contra Dance with the Seattle Folklore Society present Contra dancing every Friday at the
Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney N, Seattle (map) in the “Community Hall” (brick building off lower parking lot).
Dance from 7:30pm to 10:00pm, beginner’s workshop at 7:00.
Regular admission is $8; $7 for SFS and PNA members and seniors; $5 for students; under 16 free.
First time contra dancers get a coupon for free admission to their next dance. Coupon redemption limited to first five coupons on any single night.

Dancing til Dusk features FREE dance lessons outdoors in Seattle’s downtown parks from some of the best instructors in the city — this is a great opportunity to learn from them!
No experience or partner is required for the lesson or dance.
Each lesson lasts from 6–7p.m. in the dance style for the evening.
Each lesson will start at the beginning with the basics and will build in complexity, so be on time to get the most out of it.
Dances are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in downtown Seattle parks.

Plan to attend the CENTURY BALLROOM ANNUAL HALLOWEEN DISCO BALL! Friday, October 30, starting at 9:00pm. 21+over only. The Thriller lesson, taught by Dance Belt and dance are just $10.

Thrill The World is an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
- Volunteer event organizers in cities around the world organize events using the Thrill the World leaders manual and Thrill the World tool box.
- Each event has the option to raise money for a local charity of their choice.
- All official Thrill the World events are included in the numbers for setting and breaking World Records.

Redmond Washington Event ID: 30242 www.RedmondZombies.com. Redmond Town Center for Zombies of all ages. The party starts at 4 pm with activities and entertainment, and culminates in the worldwide simultaneous “Thriller” dance at 5:30 pm.
Seattle Washington Event ID: 30236 www.seattlethrillers.com benefiting Children’s Hospital and Acts of Kindness (AOK) Friends (feeds the homeless). Occidental Park in Pioneer Square, Occidental Avenue South and South Main Street, Seattle, WA 98104. Exclusive radio partner for this event is WARM 106.9. WARM 106.9 will promote the Seattle Thrillers’ dance performance (and world record-breaking attempt) on the air, online at the WARM 106.9 website, and will broadcast on-site to the dancers when they play “Thriller” on the air!
The ALL ACCESS after school arts program at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center* in Delridge is available free of cost to youth ages 13-18 and offers classes in topics such as Music, Leadership, Dance, Literature, and Exercise.
Fall ALL ACCESS begins October 1, 2009 and runs through December 1, 2009.

* The Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association (DNDA) is a private non profit organization based in West Seattle. DNDA is dedicated to engaging the community in creating a thriving Delridge. Since 1996, DNDA has brought together Delridge neighbors, other non-profits, the business community and local government to build community, preserve affordable housing, design and build a trail along Longfellow Creek, bring a new library to the community, and assist dozens of groups with their community projects. Much of DNDA’s work combines multiple goals such as providing affordable housing while enhancing the pedestrian environment and supporting local artists. DNDA raised $12 million to acquire and complete the historic renovation of the building though the three projects l one community campaign receiving tremendous financial support from throughout the community. The Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, in the historic Youngstown/Frank B. Cooper School, is a program of DNDA.
The Tractor Tavern regularly hosts square dances featuring music by THE TALLBOYS. Hellacious square dancing starts at 8 PM! $5 charge, ages 21 and over only.

The Tractor hosts live shows 5-7 nights a week featuring a wide range of local and national acts including Rock, Alternative Country, Rockabilly, Groove & Psychedelia, Celtic, Cajun & Zydeco, Folk, Blues, Jazz, and Bluegrass.
The Tractor purveys a fine assortment of liquor, beer, wine, and TV dinners. It ain’t elegant, but it’s darn good. There is also a selection of non-alcoholic beverages including juices and sodas. An ATM is available on-site and the Tractor accepts Visa and MasterCard for food and beverages. All shows are 21+ ONLY and every person, no matter your age, must have a valid I.D.
