Seattle Neighborhoods Actively Prepare (SNAP) is offered at various libraries throughout the City to help residents and neighborhoods become better prepared for disasters. This interactive and informative program teaches simple steps that don’t take a lot of time or money. You’ll learn that preparedness can be fun and empowering! Free, no registration needed.
SNAP is offered by the Seattle Office of Emergency Management in partnership with the community to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. For a schedule of classes and other preparedness activities, see the Seattle Emergency Management calendar.

Rampathon, a program of the Master Builders Care Foundation and the Remodelors Council, builds free wheelchair ramps for disabled low-income homeowners in King and Snohomish counties. Since 1993, Master Builders Association members have built more than 200 free wheelchair ramps for community neighbors in need.

AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. It is available to taxpayers with low- and moderate-incomes and gives special attention to people age 60 and older.
The AARP Tax-Aide program is offered at approximately 6,500 locations nationwide from late January/early February until April 15. AARP Tax-Aide pn-site tax preparation help is found in senior centers, libraries, community centers, and at other convenient locations. Electronic filing (e-filing) is offered at most sites, with no charge to the taxpayer.
Free, year-round on-line tax assistance is also offered via the Web. This service allows taxpayers to pose questions to online volunteers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from the comfort of home. To learn more, visit www.aarp.org/taxaide.
