The Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival provides a feast for the senses as visitors journey through the sights, sounds and tastes of Hawaii with workshops, Hawaiian crafts, keiki-activities, exhibits and ono food. Join many of the over 50,000 Hawaiian Islanders who call Washington their home as they share their homeland’s colorful history through live performances of the hula and mele. Presented by the Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival Committee.

Korea’s traditional Harvest Festival Day offers festival-goers insight into this country’s cultural evolution and contemporary culture through folk songs, dance, Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, traditional harvest foods, films and exhibits. Presented by the Korean-American Art & Cultural Association of the Pacific Northwest.

Tibet’s ancient and modern history is woven through Tibet Fest through a synthesis of traditional performance with modern song and music and discussions of the Tibetan people. Symbolic masks, arts and crafts, children’s activities and traditional foods, along with prayer flags and expert speakers illuminate the culture’s foundation in Buddhism. Presented by the Tibetan Association.

A free Big Day of Play is sponsored by Seattle Parks Dept and PCC Markets at Warren G. Magnuson Park, 7400 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle, August 28, 2010. Celebrate Cultural Diversity! There will be music, activities, and healthy food and plenty of fun for our cities youth.
Here’s a list of the fun activities and programs that help families to be active together: Fun Run, 3 on 3 basketball, and samples of the activities from all of our facilities and programs, and Paddling and Boating activities at the beach.
BrasilFest (Brazil spelled with an “s” in Portuguese) presents the lively world of Brazilian arts and culture. The festival fills Seattle Center with a sultry display of South American soul, Brazilian style, and celebrates Brazilian cultural diversity through traditional and contemporary expressions beyond bossa nova and samba. Presented by Brazil Center, Show Brazil Productions and the Ethnic Heritage Council.

The Seafair Air Show presented by Boeing is a must see for all families, thrill seekers, Seattlites and guests. For many across the Pacific Northwest, summer and Seafair reach their pinnacle as the six pilots behind the yokes of the “Blue” Boeing F/A-18 Hornets make their thunderous and spectacular appearance! The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will amaze the Seafair audience with their knife-edge passes and dynamic maneuvers directly overhead of boaters on Lake Washington. Recently awarded “Air Show of the Year” by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Seafair Air Show presented by Boeing is an event not to miss. The F/A-18 can reach speeds just under Mach 2, almost twice the speed of sound or about 1,400 MPH.

Note: The Washington State Department of Transportation will close all lanes of Interstate 90 across Lake Washington several times from Thursday, August 5, thru Sunday, August 8, to accommodate air show practices and performances by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels for this year’s Seafair festivities.

The Museum of Flight is again Blue Angels’ headquarters during the team’s entire Seafair stay, so you can watch them land and take off and get some pretty good close-up pictures, too. The Museum of Flight is located South of downtown Seattle, at the south end of Boeing Field / King County Airport; Exit 158 off Interstate 5, 9404 East Marginal Way S, Seattle, WA 98108. Free Parking adjacent to the Museum and Airpark. Metro Bus Route #124.
A lot of people walk out into I-90 while it is closed (see bridge closure schedule). Note that you cannot drive onto I-90.

Added to the 2010 festivities is the first Washington state U.S Hyperlite Wakeboard Experience. Washington State is the second largest wakeboard community. The leading brand name in the wakeboard industry, Hyperlite, has teamed up with Rezin Marketing and Seafair to bring a pro wake event to Lake Washington! Pro athletes will compete each day for three, one-hour performances. Hyperlite Wakeboarders Shaun Murray, Jimmy LaRiche, JD Webb, Jacob Valdez and others athletes will WOW the crowd hitting kickers and performing huge aerial maneuvers.
Hyperlite was born in the early 90’s and quickly established its dominance in the wakeboard scene through top athletes and great products. Helping to pump up the crowd of onlookers will be a “floating DJ”. The Yellow Tail Oasis Cabanas & South Turn Beer Garden are located next to the event and offer a prime viewing spot!

Each year close to 15,000 gather to celebrate summer and Seafair with Pista sa Nayon, the largest outdoor Filipino American event in the country. The all day event will take place Sunday, August 1, 2010, 9
a.m.-8 p.m. at Seattle’s Seward Park Amphitheatre.
Pista sa Nayon is a one-day festival with food, information and arts & crafts booths, live entertainment, basketball tournament and children’s games. Showcasing the very best of being Filipino, Pista sa Nayon offers activities for people of all ages. Pista sa Nayon is a beautiful expression of cultural pride and traditions amoung Filipinos. It has become a wonderful family renunion on a grand scale.
Food booths operated by local nonprofit organizations and Filipino American restaurants are the fare of the day. Human service organizations provide free helpful information for children, youth, families and seniors of the community. Entertainment is donated by professionals providing displays of cultural heritage and enrichment, and amateurs wishing to showcase their pride and love for the community
