Come to the Seattle Dahlia Society 53rd Annual Show & Flower Sale on Sunday, September 5 from 11am – 4pm at Lake City Community Center, 12531 28th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125 (map). If you’re looking for a place to walk, study, or express your artistic talents, visit the Washington Park Arboretum, a hidden gem on the shores of Lake Washington. The Graham Visitors Center has maps, restrooms, staff and Arboretum Foundation offices, a gift shop and meeting room. No matter what time of year you visit, you’ll find something of interest along the trails that wind through 230 acres of gardens, natural areas and wetlands, and a dynamic assortment of plants found nowhere else. The Washington Park Arboretum is free and open to the public daily from dawn to dusk.
The Graham Visitors Center, gift shop and public restrooms are open 9:00 AM-5:00 PM daily, except UW holidays.

Symetra Bellevue Family 4th, the Eastside’s Premier 4th of July Event, 10:05pm, Bellevue Downtown Park (one block south of Bellevue Square on the corner of NE 4th Street and Bellevue Way), 10201 NE 4th Street Bellevue, WA 98004.
Celebrate Kirkland, 10:15pm, Marina Park with views from most downtown waterfront parks. The Marina Parking Lot will open after 1:30 p.m. In the evening, once the Marina Parking Lot is full there will be no entrance into the park. After the fireworks show drivers will wait until the pedestrians are cleared from the park and traffic can move safely from the lot.
Seattle’s Family 4th at Lake Union, 10:00pm, Gas Works Park. Seattle’s Family 4th fireworks display is nationally acknowledged as one of the best in the country. The innovative and technologically advanced fireworks are set against the natural amphitheater of Lake Union and are synchronized to an inspiring score of traditional anthems and popular favorites. Time magazine has called the Family 4th at Lake Union one of the Top Five fireworks displays in the country.

Over 500 people, from more than 75 countries, will be sworn in by U.S. District Court Judge, as new citizens of the United States of America. 26th Naturalization Ceremony, Sunday, July 4, 2010 beginning at 11:00am.
This is by far one of the most meaningful and moving Fourth of July events in the region and arouses great interest among friends and families of the new citizens as well as within the general community. While this is an especially important day for the many new citizens, coming from a variety of nations and cultures, it also serves to reaffirm the deeper meaning of being a citizen of the United States of America. The public is encouraged to attend and admission is free.
Air National Guard Band of the Northwest will perform festive selections beginning at 11:00am. The Washington Army National Guard Honor Guard will present the colors. The formal program will begin at 12:00 noon, and will last one hour, beginning with a performance by Native American performers Gene Tagaban & Swil Kanim.
The 2010 Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival will be held Saturday, July 3rd and Sunday, July 4th, 2010 from 10 am to 6 pm each day. Free! Donations Accepted! The Festival is held at Lake Union Park and The Center for Wooden Boats, 1010 Valley Street, Seattle WA 98109.
The theme is heritage wooden boats. The ambiance is that of an old-fashioned, down-home waterfront festival where everything is fun, almost everything is free and nothing much is fancy. It’s as authentically grassroots American as you can get and has been for over three decades.
