On Tuesday, December 15th from 6 – 8pm in the auditorium at the Frye Art Museum, 704 Terry Avenue, photographer Michael Nye will talk about the convergence of his art and social practice via his latest project, About Hunger. About Hunger is a documentary of voices, stories and portraits that explores the lives of those who have experienced hunger. The project will debut at the Witte Museum, San Antonio, TX in January of 2010 and then begin to travel around the country. Michael’s multimedia presentation will be followed with an informal Q&A session.
Michael’s practice and interests bring him to Seattle to participate in an artist selection panel for the Harborview Nursing Commemorative, a 4Culture public art project in partnership with Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington School of Nursing.
