Wading pools operated by Seattle Parks are open on sunny days when the temperature is forecast to be 70 degrees or above. On most days pools are filled half full, which is a 50% water savings…..but on the busiest days they will be filled to the top!
Here is a list of wading pool locations, hours and open days vary, so check the schedule. Most wading pools open the last week of June and close by Labor Day.

Wild Waves Theme Park, 36201 Enchanted Pkwy S, Federal Way, WA 98003 (Google map) is over 70 acres and the largest water park in the Northwest. It’s two parks for the price of one with over 60 rides, slides, attractions, and entertainment shows included* with your admission ticket (*except the I-5 Dive, Midway Games the Arcades, and some special events which require an extra fee as indicated on the events calendar).
2012 Ticket Prices
- Pools open for 2012 season May 26.
- Regular general admission adult tickets (anyone over 48″ tall) are $39.99/front gate.
- Discount tickets are $32.99 purchased in advance online or at select Safeway locations. Children 3 years old and younger are FREE.
- Discount tickets are also available with AAA membership, after 5pm Friday-Saturday, and after 4pm Sunday. (Park closing times vary, see the Calendar at Wild Waves.)
- For 3 or more visits, buy the 2012 SEASON PASS through June 3 for $84.99, the price increases June 4 to $89.99. The season pass gives one person only per pass unlimited visits for the season on any regular operating day. Children 3 years old and younger are FREE.
- Taxes are added to all ticket prices.
- Parking is $10 daily rate, or buy a Season Parking Pass** for $40.00. (**Sold onsite only. Ask a parking attendant.)
Cascade Bicycle Club offers free Kids’ Bike Events. Kids and teens ages 4-15 can find something to do at many Cascade events.

The Snoqualmie Valley Railroad is located at the Northwest Railroad Museum. Purchase railroad tickets at the original Snoqualmie Depot 1890 ticket window. Wander through the depot exhibits about railroad history and the Victorian railroad experience. The Snoqualmie Depot is open to the public 7 days a week year ’round (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day). There is no admission charge. The Museum is open 10am to 5 pm.
The Northwest Railway Museum is a Washington non-profit corporation and is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation. The Museum operates the Interpretive Railway Program called the Snoqualmie Valley Railroad. This five mile common carrier railroad allows museum visitors to experience a train excursion aboard antique railroad coaches through the Upper Snoqualmie Valley. Trains operate on Saturdays and Sundays from April through October. In 2010, trains also run on Memorial Day and Labor Day.
The Museum was founded in 1957 as the Puget Sound Railway Historical Association. In September 1999 the name was formally changed to The Northwest Railway Museum. It is the largest and most comprehensive railway museum in Washington State and is visited by over 80,000 people each year.
Mother’s Day from 1-4pm is always a special time at the Washington Park Arborteum. Kids and families can enjoy fun, plant-themed activities and a walk along Azalea Way, with beautiful azalea bushes and cherry trees in full bloom. There is a free, guided walk from 1 – 2:30pm led by guides who take visitors on a tour of some of the amazing trees and shrubs blossoming in the park this month!

One of SDOT’s most popular publications is the free download Seattle Bicycling Guide Map. The map presents information about cycling in Seattle in a clear, easy-to-use, and friendly format. The map is updated annually and includes information about facilities including green bike lanes, bike boxes, and signed routes.
