Washington State Poet Laureate Arianne True has spent a lot of time getting to know and re-know herself. Those who are pushed to the margins of society, especially those who experience chronic illness and disability, often do this self-exploration. Join Arianne for an evening exploring that journey into and with the self, looking at how Western society so often separates us from ourselves and how we find our ways back, and how a changing/sick body affects all of it. And don’t worry, we’ll bring it back to poetry. Attendees are asked to avoid using strong fragrances.
