Why a Rain Garden? All of the impervious water-proof surfaces we enjoy – whether roofs, roads, sidewalks, driveways or patios, are the hallmark of our civilization. But while they mostly keep us dry, they’re all bad for our environment and especially bad for our ground water and aquifer recharge. So what can you do? Install a rain garden! Rain gardens help manage our precipitation in an environmentally sensitive way and they’re aesthetically pleasing as well! This presentation will equip the homeowner with the basic knowledge necessary – and maybe a little inspiration too – to create a residential rain garden in their landscape. Registration not required.
