Wa Na Wari and On the Boards have partnered to bring filmmaker Amir George to Seattle to screen his new film series “Whispering into the Void.” There is always a void to be filled in the black cinematic continuum. An aesthetic emptiness that beacons expression. Black film practitioners create experiments that expand within this void. These experiments are like whispers speaking to the now, the past, and the future. Found footage that is rethought and reordered to create something soulful and mind-bendingly visceral. “Whispering Into The Void” is a short film program comprised of black film artists curiously navigating the void while frequently expanding within it. Presented by Wa Na Wari and On The Boards in Seattle to further their goals of showcasing forward-thinking art and ideas from Black contemporary artists. More info: https://www.wanawari.org/
