The Japanese Garden located within the Washington Park Arboretum is a 3.5 acre formal garden was designed and constructed in 1960 under the supervision of world-renowned Japanese garden designer Juki Iida. Guided garden tours can enhance your experience of the garden, deepening your knowledge and sensory awareness as you stroll through. Volunteer guides offer tours at 12:30 p.m. daily April through October. Appropriate for ages 8+. An average tour takes approximately 45-minutes. No RSVP necessary. Tour is free with garden admission. Admission: Adults (18-64): $8. City of Seattle residents with ID: $6. Youths 6–17, Senior Adults 65+, College students with ID, & Disabled: $4. Children 0-5: FREE. Discount: On the First Thursdays of the month, admission is FREE for all visitors from 3 pm until closing.
