More so than most cities, Seattle has shaped itself to suit its needs. Seattle has removed hills, filled tide flats, and created a completely new downtown shoreline. This 2-hour walking tour covers about 1.5 miles along the Seattle waterfront, from Alaskan Way and Lenora Street to Occidental Park in Pioneer Sqaure. Recommended age: 4 years and older. The tour is planned to occur the third Wednesday of each month running March through August. Join author David B. Williams on this walking tour to explore the last vestiges of the former downtown bluffs, trace the lost island of Seattle, and examine how the subterranean fill still affects the modern landscape. Free; space is limited, and registration is required. More info: Secrets of Seattle’s Historic Shoreline Walking Tours Tickets, Multiple Dates | Eventbrite
