SOLD OUT Guided old growth forest walk on Whidbey Island

Join Washington State Park staff for a walk in the old growth forest at Hoypus Point in Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island. Learn about the fascinating history of the area, discover the importance of forest ecosystems, and explore how our perceptions of old growth have changed since the early 1900s. The walk is roughly 2 miles round trip with less than 300 feet elevation gain. Surface includes an old road and dirt trail. Expect the hike to take 1.5 hours with a 15-minute return walk. This hike is not ADA. Offered Saturdays in January 2023. Space is limited. Advance registration required.
