The MossyBack Morris Men have been dancing the ancient Morris Dance in Seattle since 1980. They have performed all around the Pacific Northwest, nationally from the West Coast to the East, and internationally in places such as Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto, and Hong Kong. The history of Morris Dancing goes back over 500 years, and is referred to by Shakespeare. This colorful folk performance is a celebration and display of dance and music, performed at seasonal festivals and holidays to banish the dark of winter, celebrate the warmth and fertility of summer, and bring in autumn’s golden harvest. The MossyBacks dance their own unique versions of the Cotswold style of English Morris Dance, with rousing stick dances, live music and enthusiastic audience participation. An annual favorite at Everett Library. Join this celebration of dance, music and good cheer. More info: MossyBack Morris Men • Everett Library (epls.org)
