Join the Holocaust Center for Humanity in Seattle for this year’s unique virtual program to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day. January 27 is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The day honors the six million Jewish victims and millions of non-Jewish victims of the Holocaust, and a commitment to developing educational programs that help prevent future genocides. Today, composer and jazz pianist Ted Rosenthal will perform excerpts from his jazz opera Dear Erich with two Seattle opera singers. “Dear Erich” premiered at the New York City Opera in 2019 and was inspired by 200 newly discovered WWII-era letters written between the composer’s father and grandmother. The event is free to attend, or you can support the Center by becoming a Patron with a $180 donation to support virtual programming in 2021.
