Learn about the art traditions behind Diwali, the Festival of Lights celebrated in India. Local artist Deepti Agrawal will guide you through an overview of India’s art practices and folk customs, then show how they are incorporated into this joyous holiday celebration. She will finish by helping the participants create their own Diwali artworks traditionally known to usher good vibes and prosperity into our homes. Instructions and rangoli design templates are emailed to participants upon registration. Deepti Agrawal is a renowned Madhubani painting artist, designer, and muralist as well as an arts educator.
