“Unexpected Legacy: Selected Works of Kenneth Showell (1939-1997)” is the first major exhibit of Showell’s art in almost 20 years. Showell, a New York painter and photographer died in 1997. Showell’s daughter and Seattle film archivist Hannah Palin inherited over 1300 artworks from her estranged father. She spent five years documenting, researching, and organizing her inheritance of Ken’s works. His abstract works and distinctive approach earned significant attention during his lifetime. His work is held by prominent museums and collectors. Exhibition dates: September 6-30, 2023, Thursdays – Saturdays from 12pm-6pm.

- September 13 from 6pm-9pm: Palin will talk about Showell’s work, his use of media, her experiences connecting with his family and friends, as well as his ties to the vibrant art scene of 1960s New York.
