Coast Salish tribes in the Pacific Northwest have revived an ancient tradition, to paddle across the Salish Sea* to a designated host tribe or First Nation. In 2023, the Muckleshoot are playing host. Indigenous people from across British Columbia, Oregon, and Washington are invited to arrive by canoe on Alki Beach by July 30, then participate in activities at Muckleshoot July 31 – August 6.
