Pandemic Parenting!! Argh! is a Timberland Library workshop series on different aspects of parenting. Space is limited.
- Wednesday, January 27th, 2021, 1:00pm – 2:30pm. Pandemic Parenting!! Argh!: Questioning Obedience, and the Power of Requests. Come and explore the ways in which we can question our actions by bringing curiosity to a fundamental component of our society – obedience. Explore alternative ways to build trust, willingness and collaboration in your home, in ways that move towards connection and away from fear. Experiment with a powerful strategy to create a home in which everyone knows, deep inside their being, that they matter and they belong.
- Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, 1:00pm – 2:30pm. Pandemic Parenting!! Argh!: Hearing Our Children’s Deepest Longings Underneath their Hard-to-Hear Words. As caregivers, we can often be on the receiving end of some very difficult words or behaviors. It can be so hard to know how seriously to take the words or even whether or not we “should let our children get away with behaving that way”. Come sort through the seeming chaotic mess of emotions and judgments and get down to what really matters, from where the path forward becomes clearer.
- Wednesday, March 24th, 2021, 1:00pm – 2:30pm. Pandemic Parenting!! Argh!: Putting Needs at the Center of the Family System. In this circle we will get down to the difference between needs and strategies, and practice and experience how the further into needs-awareness we get, the more possibilities there are for moving forward in a way that leaves everyone with the sense that they matter.
