Did you know the iconic Book Carts at Freeway Park were popcorn carts at the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair? Seattle Parks and Recreation helped Freeway Park Association repurpose the carts to use as book carts and sell our community donated books. So, head to the Park to find a new favorite book or perhaps an old classic at accessible prices. Get book club ready with new and gently used books for $2-3 at the book carts in the main plaza. Book carts open on Tuesdays and Thursdays in May, and Monday through Friday from June to September. 12-2pm. All Freeway Park Association events are free and open to the public. Book sales help fund Park programming as well as the work of the Friends of Seattle Public Library. More info: Book Carts | Freeway Park Association
