The Western Snowy Plover can be found in small numbers along the beaches in Southern Washington. But like many birds, the plover is being impacted by sea level rise as a result of climate change. University of Washington students Gio Wilson, Yen-Chia Pan, Cindy Fu, Yuxuan Gao, and Maggie Lei have researched the climate change impacts on rising ocean levels, and how sea level rise is currently impacting habitats for bird species, like the plover, all along the Pacific coast. The students are studying Wildlife Conservation & Management under John Marzluff. Join the Seward Park Audubon Center as these students present the results of their work and share steps individuals can do to help conserve this precious bird. And, because it’s Science, Nature and a Biscuit, tea, and biscuits will be served with butter and jam. Free; advance registration required.
