January 4-5 and January 11-12, 2019. 14/48: The World’s Quickest Theater Festival operates under a simple premise: gather some of Seattle’s most daring theater artists and put them in a pressure cooker. The challenge is far from simple: 7 playwrights, 7 directors, and 26 actors, along with a team of designers, musicians, and technicians spend 48 hours together. In this time, they write, cast, direct, rehearse, score, design, and premiere 14 original ten-minute plays. All participants are veterans who have weathered the creative storm of past 14/48 festivals. They arrive to the artist meeting on Thursday night not knowing whether they will be a writer or actor or designer or musician. Friday and Saturday each feature seven new plays. There are three ways to get tickets for 14/48 at ACT: Tickets: $20 adult and $10 senior (65+) or students with ID. Discounts: Free tickets are included with your purchase of an ACT membership ($30/month, 6-month minimum). ACTPass lets you see everything offered on ACT’s Mainstage and in ACTLab.
