If you dine out regularly, either at casual or upscale restaurants, it only makes sense to join a reward or loyalty program and take advantage of discounts and other benefits you can receive as a repeat customer. Businesses of all kinds know that getting customers is hard, and keeping customers coming back is even harder. So many restaurants are more than happy to slip you a little green in the form of a discount when you come back regularly.
The best restaurant rewards programs for you to join are those with convenient locations (near work or home) and a menu selection you always find appealing. We recommend you choose two or three rewards programs at most, perhaps one casual restaurant for everyday dining, one for take-out, and one upscale restaurant for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, engagements, etc.). A restaurant chain that offers different styles featuring all of these would help you rack up points for any type of restaurant dining or takeout you may want to do.
Be sure to compare the fine print if you are trying to choose between two or more locations. Some restaurant rewards programs give additional discounts for your birthday or wedding anniversary, plus special invitations and exclusive offers. Other programs may place restrictions on your dining rewards, for example restrict you to dine-in only or add an automatic gratuity to your bill. More flexible dining reward programs allow you to earn rewards for every dollar you spend with them, whether you are dining in, getting take-out, enjoying cocktails or food in the lounge, or buying gift cards. Finally, some restaurant loyalty programs also offer perks or discounts with partners, which is great if they are companies where you are likely to also want to visit.
So check out our list of Seattle and Puget Sound area restaurants. If we left your favorite restaurant reward program off this list, send us an email and we’ll be happy to add it.
One final thought: by their nature, rewards programs are only feasible for larger restaurant chains. However, many smaller, local, single location restaurants offer punch cards that reward you with a freebie after multiple purchases. So check with your local barista or mom-and-pop restaurant whether they offer a punch card.
