Sound Generations is the most comprehensive non-profit agency serving older adults and their loved ones in Washington State. They promote the emotional, social and physical well-being of older adults through a network of community connections and services. Senior Services is committed to providing a full range of community education, services, and resources to help King County seniors maintain independence, security and quality of life. Senior Services expects to lead our community into a future where its older residents can remain healthy and engaged longer. They are similarly committed to providing a much-needed helping hand to family caregivers, many of whom care for aging parents and children simultaneously.
- Seniors. Finding what you need when you need it is not always easy. Programs offered by the agency include transportation assistance, food assistance, senior centers, health and wellness programs, legal and financial assistance, home repair services, and much more.
- Caregivers. In addition, they offer resources to relatives caring for kin who are minor children. If you live in King County and are caring for a partner, friend or family member age 18 or older, caregiver advocates can help connect you to individual consultations and support groups, housing options, transportation resources, Medicaid eligibility, in-home assistance and respite care, adult day health programs, LGBT-specific resources and more.
Through their many programs, Senior Services promotes the emotional, social, and physical well-being of older adults through an integrated system of quality programs and services. Half of the multi-million dollar annual budget comes from taxpayer-based sources, including federal, state, city and county government. They also receive significant funding from the United Way of King County, fees, client and individual donations, corporations, foundations and civic organizations.
