This summer, Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) will host the Freedom Plane National Tour: Documents That Forged a Nation in celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
As the final stop on the national tour, MOHAI will host the Freedom Plane National Tour from July 30 through August 16, 2026, offering a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the Pacific Northwest to experience these original records before they return to the National Archive vaults.

Featured documents include an Original Engraving of the Declaration of Independence (1823), the Secret Printing of the Constitution in Draft Form (1787), the Treaty of Paris, and the Bill of Rights. The Freedom Plane National Tour exhibit is brought to the American public by the National Archives and National Archives Foundation.
Additional documents on display include:
- Articles of Association, 1774: Signed by all 53 delegates, the Articles of Association urged colonists to boycott British goods and was the Continental Congress’s first major unified act of resistance against Britain.
- George Washington’s, Alexander Hamilton’s, and Aaron Burr’s Oaths of Allegiance, 1778: Oaths of Allegiance that all officers of the Continental Army signed during the Revolutionary War.
- Tally of Votes Approving the Constitution, 1787: The voting records of the Constitutional Convention reflecting the debates, resolutions, and eventual vote on the final text that would become the Constitution.
Entry to the exhibit is free, but a timed ticket is required due to popular demand: advance reservations are encouraged.
MOHAI announced this week that all public advance reservations have been claimed. A limited number of walk-up tickets are available daily on a first-come, first-served basis as space allows. Admission is not guaranteed.
