The Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) showcases the storied history of Seattle and the rest of the Puget Sound Region. With carefully curated exhibits and a variety of special classes and events every month, MOHAI is the place to be for families looking for a fun but still educational day out together.
MOHAI is also home to the Sophie Frye Bass Library, which is a research library dedicated to the history of the Seattle metro area, Washington, and Alaska and their materials are available online or in-person through appointment.

Entry to MOHAI is FREE from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month as part of Seattle’s Free First Thursday.

- Blue Star Museums. Current military personnel and up to five family members can get in for FREE during the summer (check the website for official start and end dates).
- MOHAI Access Pass. This is a limited FREE admission pass. There are only a few every day and they are available to anyone for any reason. You can reserve them by emailing Visitor Services or calling them at 206-324-1126.
- Museums for All. Visitors on EBT, WIC, or with Foster Family credentials can present their proof to get up to four FREE passes.
- Open Doors Program. Through this program, MOHAI allows historically marginalized communities and associated groups to get a FREE group visit or FREE passes to distribute by contacting the Museum through the request form.
- Seattle Museum Pass. Visitors with memberships to the Seattle Public Library (SPL) or King County Public Library (KCLS) systems can get two FREE adult passes.
- TeenTix. TeenTix participants can present proof of their participation to get $5 admission. They can also get an adult ticket for $5 on Thursdays.
