Hood Canal Fjord Fest, aka The Brinnon Shrimp Festival, began in 1993 to benefit the Brinnon School, Volunteer Ambulance & Firefighters Association, Brinnon and Quilcene Community Centers, and Food Banks as well as other community projects. Hood Canal Fjord Fest is a Memorial Day weekend family festival celebrating Hood Canal Spot Shrimp and other local seafood. It lures hungry seafood lovers from all over the Northwest to fish Hood Canal’s rich waters, and festival goers to enjoy the festival activities and local food. There are activities for all ages, individuals, and families including rides, activities, crafts, food booths and abeer and wine garden. The Hood Canal tides are usually low enough during this weekend for easy harvest of clams and oysters on the public beaches near the festival, (license required) and the weather is traditionally good in Brinnon on Memorial Day weekend. This is a great family fun event! Kids under 12 FREE with paying parent. Active Military and Veterans Free (with ID). More info: Brinnon Shrimpfest | Memorial Day Hood Canal WA Shrimp Festival
