Jefferson County Fair, held in early August is a smaller fair in Port Townsend, with nearby Puget Sound beach access. This fair is focused around 4-H with lots of opportunities for animal encounters. Pre-sale tickets are the best way to go to make this an inexpensive event. A large salmon BBQ ($10) is held one day and a beef BBQ ($8) is held another day. The BBQ is included in some of the ticket options and is a great chance to try local food and community. Each year the fair revolves around a different theme with a coloring contest and activities focused on that theme. 2024 ticket price TBA; past years admission was $8.
