CIDBIA regrets to announce that they must cancel the CID Night Market, scheduled for September 23, 2023. Since the pandemic, production costs have risen while sponsorships have dwindled. Profits from these events pay for the CIDBIA’s other initiatives such as district-wide sanitation, public safety, and marketing for small businesses. In the past few years, CIDBIA has made little to no profit on these events yet continued to produce them for the benefit of the neighborhood. Unfortunately, they are no longer able to continue. CIDBIA’s work in the area of sanitation, public safety, marketing and communications, and advocacy will continue. They welcome your suggestions, ideas, and collaboration to ensure that they can continue to support small businesses and keep the spirit of the CID Night Market alive. As one of Seattle’s largest and original Night Market, the conception of C-ID Night Market was intended to provide locals and visitors a unique open-air market experience in the evening. Taking after popular night market themes across Asia, the Chinatown-International District Night Market allows festival goers to feast on a variety of international delights; from food vendors dishing out a variety of street food, to local restaurants serving up the district’s popular staples. What makes the C-ID Night Market unique is the outdoor international market featuring handmade local goods, fresh cut flowers, and Asian inspired items. As the sun sets over the historic Chinatown Gate, live bands and break-dancing groups perform throughout the evening as crowds dance the night away at the all-ages dance party. Streets are segmented off to allow for dozens of street vendors to offer a plethora of food, crafts, shopping, and entertainment choices. More info: Chinatown “I Heart ID” | Facebook
