Puget Sound Mycological Society (PSMS) annual Wild Mushroom Show every fall is one of the largest and most complete exhibits of mushrooms in the United States. Over 200 varieties of wild mushrooms are displayed, identified, and classified as edible, poisonous, or valueless as food. Exhibits will include something for each of the senses: A slide show lecture followed by feel and smell display and delicious tasting of mushrooms prepared by some of Seattle’s finest chefs. There are photography displays as well as a fungi items for sale, including mushroom field guides, cookbooks, t-shirts, and scientific materials for the serious mycologist. Visitors can get more information about PSMS classes, field trips, membership, and other opportunities. If you wish, bring in mushrooms from your garden or walks for experts to identify. Be sure to collect the entire mushroom, including underground parts. Hours: Sat 12-6PM Sun 10A-5P. Tickets at the door. Age 12 and under are FREE.
