The Pacific Northwest Folklorico Festival is back for 2026!
Join host Joyas Mestizas on Sunday, August 16, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Brockey Center, South Seattle College, and experience a full day of vibrant performances celebrating the rich cultural traditions of Mexico through folklórico dance, music, and regional costumes.
Tickets are only $2.50 per person, and parking is free.
This year’s festival will feature more than 10 youth and adult dance groups from across the Pacific Northwest, showcasing dances from diverse regions of Mexico. The 2026 theme is We Keep Flying, which celebrates movement, resilience, and the enduring strength of community. Inspired by the epic journey of the monarch butterfly, it honors the courage it takes to keep moving forward, carrying stories, traditions, and identities across distance, change, and time.
Rooted in migration, cultural memory, and transformation, We Keep Flying reflects how dancers honor their roots while embracing the path ahead. Through dance, they acknowledge the generations that came before, the challenges that have shaped the community, and the joy found in continuing to grow together.
