Rampathon, an annual program of the Master Builders Association* (MBAKS) builds FREE wheelchair access ramps for homeowners in need throughout King and Snohomish counties. Each year, members and community volunteers head to homes throughout the region to build wheelchair ramps. For FREE. Because neighbors in need deserve the same freedoms all of us have.
*Founded in 1909 and headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) is the nation’s oldest and largest local homebuilders association, serving every area of the residential homebuilding industry. They are the professional homebuilders, architects, remodelers, suppliers, manufacturers, and sales and marketing professionals in your community who believe homeownership is a right for everyone.
The addition of a wheelchair ramp to a home is more than just an alternate way into a house. In many cases it provides a means to truly re-enter the world and have the opportunity to participate in life. For those confined to a wheelchair, an access ramps is a link to the beautiful community we all share.
The Master Builders Association is proud to help local veterans, children in need, and elderly community members become more mobile and independent. Since its inception in 1993, MBA members and Rampathon volunteers have built more than 400 ramps for our community.
Rampathon building usually takes place on a Saturday in May. Volunteers are needed to assist with the building projects. Many volunteers who participate find it is an experience that changes everyone involved. The ability to volunteer one day in order to truly change someone’s life is an incredible experience. At a minimum Rampathon teams give a gift of hope to someone in need and their families.
If you want to fill out an application to get a ramp built for you or a loved one, or volunteer to help build wheelchair ramps, visit the Rampathon website.
- 2024 Applications to be considered for a free wheelchair ramp are open and will close on May 3, 2024. Ramp construction will begin in April 2024.
