What is Cyber Monday?
Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season, which continues online with an upsurge in purchases on the following Monday—dubbed Cyber Monday. Some retailers offer a whole week of Black Friday to Cyber Monday deals. As online trends often do, Cbyer Monday started organically when retailers noticed online sales increasing in the first decade of the 21st century.
Wanting to capture more of your gift-giving dollars, online retailers started offering discounts, sale items, and other savings, such as free shipping. And just like Black Friday, Cyber Monday has grown into a multi-day (and in some cases, a week-long) sales event. Many online retail stores offer discounts and savings from Cyber Monday to the following Sunday.
